ABOUT THE SCHOOL
The Southsea School of Dancing was founded in 1950 by Audrey Brown. It has an excellent reputation for producing well-rounded dancers in all disciplines.
The School teaches Classical Ballet, Modern/Jazz and Tap to dancers aged 3 upwards.
The School follows the examination syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance (Classical Ballet) and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (Classical Ballet, Modern and Tap.) Both organisations have a worldwide reputation for quality and more information about them can be found by following the links below.
We are one of a handful of schools in the area that offer classes in ALL disciplines to Advanced 2 level, and we are proud to boast an excellent history of examination results.

We are very aware that not every child is born to be a professional dancer - our aim is to inspire our young pupils with a joy in movement and a love of theatre.
Through courtesy, discipline, motivation and dedication come confidence and poise - which our students take with them into every walk of life
