This is a respected site that deals with physiotherapy for young dancers and has some excellent information on injury prevention and body conditioning. If you ignore the sales 'pop-ups' and sign up for the webposts you will receive some excellent advice!

The Body Series

Similar to the above site, this offers a newsletter giving answer to questions dancers have about technical/physical problems they may have. Excellent basic technical advice is given and highly recommended for those studying at vocational level. Really helps you to understand the mechanics of dance.

American Ballet Theatre

A site that explains some basic ballet terminology, and so helpful to vocational students. Some exercises are demonstrated by dancers from the American Ballet Theatre. Please note that some terms differ from the ones we use!

Long established local dancewear shop. The staff here are fully aware of all uniform requirements for the Southsea School of Dance, and will be happy to help you. However, please be careful when buying ballet shoes, the fit should be snug. If in doubt ask us to check before sewing ribbons/elastics etc.

This is the examinations board we use for our Tap, Modern and Vocational Ballet syllabi. Worth a look as it gives insight into the structure and organisation behind your exams.

RAD

The examining board we use for our Childrens Graded examinations. Again gives an understanding of the exams our children take and the wider dance education they offer.
